A popular Chicago hot dog restaurant is opening new Arizona locations. Here's what to know

Chicago-style fast casual chain Portillo's announced plans to open two new restaurants in Arizona.

In metro Phoenix, five locations of the chain are currently open, slinging hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches and Portillo's famous chocolate cake.

By the end of the year, the Valley will have a sixth location, opening in Gilbert. The new restaurant is set to open "near San Tan Village," according to a press release.

The second new spot will be in Tucson, which will be Portillo's first location in the southern Arizona city.

“We’ve loved serving our fans in the beautiful state of Arizona since we first opened in Scottsdale in 2012,” Portillo’s CEO Michael Osanloo said in the release. “We could not be more thrilled to be expanding in the Phoenix area with a new restaurant in the town of Gilbert while simultaneously bringing our unrivaled Chicago street food to the bustling city of Tucson.”

The Tucson restaurant will be located at the El Con Center, a shopping and entertainment center on Broadway and Dodge boulevards.

Portillo's is now hiring for both locations, which are scheduled to open within the year.
