Porterville man arrested for trespassing, drug possession

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man has been arrested after allegedly trespassing a vacant outbuilding in a property and possessing several drugs, the Porterville Police Department announced on Saturday.

Officers say they responded to a home located in the 1200 block of West Tomah Avenue regarding a report of trespassing on a vacant outbuilding on the property.

Upon arrival, investigators say they contacted 47-year-old Kevin Russell at the home, who was found to be in possession of cocaine. Officers checked the outbuilding for any other subjects and observed methamphetamine and heroin in plain sight.

As a result of the items observed, detectives say a search warrant was authored and endorsed by a Tulare County Superior Court Judge.

During the search of the building, detectives say they located approximately two pounds of methamphetamine, one ounce of cocaine, one-quarter ounce of heroin, and indicia related to narcotic sales. Russell was also found to be in possession of seven bank cards not issued to him, the personal information of another subject, and a fake California Driver’s License depicting his photo on it.

Investigators say Russell was determined to be out on bail for an investigation that occurred in August of 2023 where he was arrested on suspicion of possessing three pounds of methamphetamine, one ounce of hearing, a half ounce of cocaine, an excess of 500 synthetic opioid pills, and 20 firearms in various calibers.
