Hollyoaks aired a return for the popular Charlie Dean as the story between JJ and Frankie Osborne continued.

Charlie was last seen on screen in March as he went off to start his apprenticeship, but made a return in tonight’s (May 16) first look-episode as he began clearing out some stuff from his home.

His return coincided with Nancy finding out that she hadn’t been successful in her application for the headteacher position, resulting in her letting Frankie down gently after she asked for money to repair her ballet shoes, which had been sabotaged by JJ.

Following her dance lesson, Frankie bumped into Charlie, who offered to give her the money to repair the shoes after seeing how much it meant to her.

The pair played a game of cards as they sought to move past the barriers that had been in their relationship before, but were soon interrupted by JJ, who has been sexually assaulting Frankie.

Sensing her discomfort regarding JJ’s arrival, Charlie made an excuse for JJ to leave in order to ease Frankie’s worries, and her mood increased even more as she received an invitation for an audition at a dance school.
