Burch Farms in Parma is permanently closing after 70 years.

The farm owners shared the news on social media.

"After 70 years of family farming, we have decided it's time to pass the tractor on to someone else."

The family-run farm, located at 527 North Ave. (Route 259) in Parma, just north of Hilton, grew apples, peaches, strawberries, cherries, blueberries and nectarines.

Area farmers purchased the Burch properties, which is approximately 250 acres, according to the announcement.

Among them, Joe Heberle will manage the orchards and plans to sells fruit at a roadside stand.

U-Pick will no longer be offered.
