Poll: New Hampshire residents favor casino at Rockingham Park

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- A new poll of New Hampshire residents says there's modest support for opening a casino in the state.

Residents in the WMUR Granite State Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center are favoring a single casino at Rockingham Park.

The poll said although few New Hampshire adults regularly visit casinos outside of the state, nearly half of the residents polled say they would visit a casino on the Massachusetts border at least once a year.

The phone poll of 507 randomly selected adults in New Hampshire took place April 4-9.

The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
