If you have ever suffered a bout of insomnia, chances are you’ve seen some bizarre infomercials. You may therefore be familiar with MyPillow and have found yourself wondering if the product is the answer to your sleep issues.

The company, My Pillow, has at least one huge fan.

At a rally in Fargo, N.D., on Wednesday, President Trump noted My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell as a longtime supporter and marveled at how many ads the company airs. Granted, after many companies pulled their ads on Fox, it’s not surprising that a business like My Pillow would grab their slots for “peanuts,” as Trump estimates.

The president said, “I want you to be my ad buyer because I guarantee you he makes great deals.

“He does make a great product, great pillows,” Trump said. “I actually use them, believe it or not.”

That may be true, but in January 2017 the Better Business Bureau lowered its accreditation of My Pillow to F. One of the main issues was the company’s continuous “buy one get one free” offer, which the bureau said could be “construed as an item’s regular, everyday price.”

The BBB rating aside, however, does MyPillow work? The Amazon reviews are mixed. Many customers complain about the pillows getting lumpy and that the “interlocking foam” is actually just shredded foam. But it also has some passionate fans.

Lindell himself is indeed a self-made man. The multimillionaire CEO, who was once a crack addict, has been sober for nearly nine years. He estimates that he has spent $100 million on infomercials.
