Polish President confirms participation in Ukrainian Peace Summit in Switzerland

Polish President Andrzej Duda confirmed his attendance at June's Ukrainian Peace Summit in Switzerland, he said on X on May 6.
"Today, I had a phone call with President Zelenskyy. During the conversation, I declared my participation in the upcoming peace summit in Switzerland," Duda said.
"We are united for a just peace!"

During the call, Zelenskyy thanked Duda for his "unwavering support for the Peace Formula."
They also discussed the necessary steps for the broadest involvement of Global South countries.
"The only reliable peace is one based on fair conditions," Zelenskyy said.
"Our Peace Summit provides the best opportunity to accomplish this."
Global Peace Summit in Switzerland
The first Global Peace Summit will take place on June 15-16 in the Swiss resort city of Bürgenstock, near Lucerne.

Up to 100 countries are expected to participate in the summit, Bloomberg reported.
The event aims to "create a common understanding" of how to achieve "comprehensive, fair, and strong peace for Ukraine in accordance with international law and the UN Charter," the Swiss government said.
U.S. President Joe Biden may participate in the summit, media reports suggest.
France is "closely cooperating" with countries seeking to establish conditions for peace based on international law and will participate in the Global Peace Summit, French President Emmanuel Macron said on April 12.
The summit will discuss an "all-for-all" prisoner exchange, the Ukrainian President reported on May 3.
