Police say wanted man and previous offender found with weapons in Jamestown
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two men, one of them wanted out of Dunkirk, were arrested after the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team allegedly discovered multiple weapons in a residence on Victoria Avenue.
Police said the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force searched the residence on April 9 with assistance from the SWAT team. It is alleged that 44-year-old Jamestown man Michael E. Hitchcock and 38-year-old Robert A. Hallett, wanted out of Dunkirk, were located inside the residence along with multiple weapons.
Hitchcock had been the target of a previous search warrant and seizure of weapons, according to police.
Detectives found a .30-caliber rifle, metal knuckles, a switchblade knife, ammunition, and a high-capacity magazine at the residence.
Hitchcock was charged with fourth-degree and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Hallett was turned over to Dunkirk.
