A crash between a train and motorcycle Wednesday afternoon closed Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Hamilton, according to police.

A motorcyclist has been sent to the hospital after crashing with a CSX train on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Hamilton, according to the City of Hamilton.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:31 p.m. and closed the roadway between Sycamore Street and Pershing Avenue. It was reopened at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The motorcyclist was care flighted to Miami Valley Hospital and was conscious and alert, the city said in a statement. The investigation is still ongoing.

A CSX spokesperson told Enquirer media partner Fox19 that the motorcyclist went around the lowered crossing gates when the CSX train hit the driver. No one on the train was injured, the spokesperson added.
