Police say they got a 911 call asking for assistance around 4:30 a.m. on Friday from a home on Floral Drive just off Holt Road.

Through their investigation, Albemarle PD and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation claimed the 17-year-old, Baylee Carver, was presumed dead.

Officers announced the arrest of Joshua Biles, 20, who has been charged with felony obstruction and concealment of death. He is currently in custody at the Stanly County Jail under a $250,000 bond.

Baylee’s father, Justin Carver spoke to veteran crime reporter Glenn Counts, telling him that family and friends have been searching for nearly 24 hours.

“I feel like I can’t stop until they find her, or we find her,” he said.

Even though Biles has been charged, the family told Counts they were told he doesn’t remember where the body is.

“I know she didn’t deserve to be dumped somewhere whatever happened,” Justin Carver said.

Carver says he and his daughter were very close, and that she had a loving spirit. When she was first born he got her name tattooed on his arm.

Currently, his focus is staying on the search for his daughter and not on the pain that lies at the end of it.

“I’m still trying to process all that, know what I mean, it’s probably gonna hit me when they do find her.”

Albemarle PD, NCSBI, and the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children are working together to find Carver‘s remains.

Deputies in Rowan County searched their area after information showed that it was one of Baylee Carver’s last known locations.

Investigators say they didn’t find anything.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Albemarle Police Department.
