Police in search of DoorDash delivery driver who often services Hyde Park, Loop area
CHICAGO — Chicago police are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing DoorDash delivery driver.
According to police, 24-year-old Elijah Okunola frequents Hyde Park and downtown Loop areas.
Okunola is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a thin black jacket, blue jeans and white gym shoes.
Family said the last time he was seen, he was driving his mom to work. He is driving a gray 2008 Honda Accord with Illinois license plate AH 86525.

His brother said he’s tried calling his cell phone since Saturday morning, but now it’s going to voicemail.
“I keep trying to phone number every 10 minutes,” Oyetunji Okunola said.
Oyetunji said he’s tried contacting DoorDash for his last delivery location, which was back on April 2.
But in the meantime, he has been driving around the areas he has typically made deliveries.
“Because Chicago is a big city, and I know he frequents at South Loop and Hyde Park,” Oyetunju said. “I drove around Hyde Park and South Loop and the Loop area for four or five hours yesterday and I could not find anything but if I can get an exact address, then I could know what to look for.”
He said his brother was always home by 10 p.m. every night, so this is extremely unusual.
“He’s very reserved and shy, really doesn’t like trouble,” Oyetunji said. “No arrest history, no criminal history, does his best to work. All he does is go out to work, come back home.”
DoorDash released the following statement Tuesday:
“We are devastated to hear about this tragic situation and have reached out to the Okunola family to offer our support during this difficult time. The safety of our community is extremely important to us, and we’ve been working closely with local law enforcement to assist them as they investigate in any way that we can.”
