Police respond to reported stabbing in Shamokin

SHAMOKIN, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say one person was taken to a hospital after a reported stabbing in Shamokin.

Officer Benjamin Busko of the Shamokin Police Department told 28/22 News they were called to the unit block of West Independence Street at about 9:00 p.m. Thursday for a reported stabbing.

One person was injured and in stable condition before being taken to Geisinger, according to Officer Busko.

Downtown Scranton planning for road changes

Police say they are looking for a person of interest concerning the incident.

The incident is under investigation at this time.
