JetBlue passenger was unarmed, suspected of being intoxicated in airport meltdown

More details are emerging about an incident at Florida's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in which a woman got aggressive, swore at JetBlue staffers and claimed she had a gun.

On Tuesday, Broward Sheriff’s Office's public information officer Joy Oglesby provided USA TODAY with a police report, which revealed the woman, 26, was not carrying a weapon.

Her infraction was listed as Baker/Marchman, which refers to a pair of state laws that allow for a 72-hour voluntary or involuntary hospitalization on psychiatric or substance-abuse grounds. Oglesby confirmed the woman was taken to a hospital for evaluation but not arrested.

Later, JetBlue told USA TODAY that the woman appeared intoxicated.

"On January 6, crew members at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport denied boarding to a customer for indications of intoxication," the airline's statement read. "The flight departed without further incident 16 minutes after scheduled departure time. Crew members later requested assistance from local law enforcement after the customer became disruptive in the airport."

During the woman's meltdown, which was captured in an NSFW video and shared on social media, she screamed at the counter worker, "(Expletive), who does that to a woman like me? You rapist, get me out of here. I have a (expletive) gun on me, because I'm homeless. Get me out."

The woman then picked up her bag and walked away. In a second clip, officers were seen with the woman.
