E. C. Glass High School deemed safe after bomb threat investigation

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) –Detectives with the Lynchburg Police Department were at E. C. Glass High School after an alleged bomb threat came in on Friday.

Around 11:39 a.m. on March 1, the police said they were notified of the threat at the High School. Captain Joel Hinkley told WFXR that K9 Units were on the scene searching the building.

We’re told that Liberty University and Virginia State Police were requested to assist with the search.

Student taken to hospital after fight at Heritage High School

All students were released early and classes were canceled for the day out of caution.

Police say after completing the search, the school was considered safe.

WFXR News has reached out to the Lynchburg City Schools and has not heard back.
