Police: Online posts prompted deadly casino fight

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno, Nev., police say they've arrested a nightclub guard accused of killing a man who posted negative comments on social media about the lounge's security.

Authorities say they arrested 24-year-old Stefen Johnson on suspicion of second-degree murder Thursday, four months after the man died.

Police say 23-year-old Victor Victoria-Acevedo had posted negative comments online about the security at Bubinga Lounge, inside the Eldorado Hotel Casino. Authorities say he was blocked from entering the club Dec. 15 due to the comments, which led to a fight.

Police say Johnson used an excessive amount of force against Victoria-Acevedo, causing injuries that led to his death.

Investigators say it took a while to piece together the events because several witnesses were out of state and not readily available for interviews.
