Man hit, killed by vehicle in McCandless

A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in McCandless Saturday night.

Allegheny County dispatchers said police and medics were called to 95 Blazier Drive at 10:18 p.m.

The victim, identified as Donald Leach, 78, was hit while crossing McKnight Road near the Pine Creek Shopping Center.

McCandless police said they believe Leach was hit while walking home from his shift at Target.

In an update on Monday, police said the vehicle involved was located.
