Police: Man disseminates nude pictures of woman

LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are charging a man after they say he disseminated nude pictures of a woman he knew across several social media platforms.

According to the Taylor Police Department, in July of 2023, a woman walked into the station to report harassment that was allegedly being done by Frank Battaglia, 20, of Scranton.

The victim told officers that Battaglia allegedly had been posting explicit photos of her on Reddit, Instagram, and Snapchat and sending them to her friends and family using Facebook Messenger, police stated.

The mother of the victim told police Battaglia sent her explicit photos of the victim via Snapchat in July 2021, however, the family didn’t report the incident because the victim was embarrassed, according to court documents.

As stated in the affidavit, the victim claimed that Battaglia created Instagram accounts under her name and used them to post old explicit photos taken of her when she and Battaglia were both underage, however, Battaglia was a legal adult when he began to post the pictures.

Investigators said the victim provided screenshots of chat logs, usernames, and photos relevant to the incident.

Battaglia faces charges of unlawful dissemination of intimate images and harassment. He was released on unsecured bail.
