Police: Man arrested in Virginia Beach for 2022 fatal stabbing in DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a man was arrested for a fatal stabbing that happened in 2022 in Northeast D.C.

On Friday, March 1, 21-year-old Christian Wilkerson, of Northwest, D.C., was arrested in Virginia Beach after being wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant.

Arrest made in Lyft driver’s murder in DC

The stabbing happened on Nov. 11, 2022 at around 5:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Riggs Rd. There, MPD officers found 20-year-old Rashawn Phifer suffering from stab wounds. He died there.

Wilkerson was charged with second degree murder while armed, and will be extradited back to D.C.
