Police: Man arrested for shooting that left father, daughter hurt

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A man who has been wanted by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) for his involvement in a Northeast D.C. shooting was arrested on Wednesday.

Police said that 29-year-old Alante Partlow of Northeast D.C. was found in Greensboro, NC, nearly a month after a shooting that left a father and his 5-year-old daughter hurt.

The shooting happened on April 23 at about 11:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of North Capitol Street NE. Officers found a man and a 5-year-old girl who had been shot.

They were taken to hospitals for treatment of injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

Partlow was identified as a suspect shortly after the shooting and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault while Armed (Gun). Police said he and the victims knew each other.

MPD said he will be extradited from North Carolina back to the District.
