FCPD said on March 10, Jose Rigoberto Alvarenga Machado, 35, of Falls Church, was driving westbound on Leesburg Pike when he tried to turn left onto Glen Carlyn Drive, through the motorcyclist’s right-of-way. That caused the motorcyclist, Alejandro Portillo, 19 of Arlington, to hit Machado’s car.

Portillo was taken to hospital where he died.

Machado was charged with failure to yield while making a left turn, according to FCPD. He was served a summons to court and then released.

FCPD said anyone with information about this crash was asked to call (703) 280-0543.
