The initial report Sunday morning didn't have a lot of information from police, but said three people were killed and two more were injured. This report from the Ledger-Enquirer has an account of the events from a man reportedly involved with the fight led to the shooting:

Turquorius Vines, 23, said he was at the pool party Saturday evening at the University Heights apartments with one of his friends. He said he and his friend were approached by two other men who started arguing with them over a woman.

Vines said he punched one of the men, while his friend hit both of the men over the head with a bottle. Either one or both of the two men then started shooting, he said. He said his friend was shot and killed, while two others also were hit by gunfire. Vines said he had never before seen the men who he had been arguing with.

Al.com's Charles Goldberg confirms that Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips, both former football players for Auburn, were killed in the shooting. Current Auburn player Eric Mack was also shot, but is going to be okay. He reportedly already tweeted condolences to his teammates' families.

Take some of this information with a grain of salt, but the Reddit thread for the shooting has eye witness reports from people who apparently live in the area, and either witnessed or were on the scene of the shooting.
