Police investigating after driver crashes into Little Rock art studio

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock police are investigating a Tuesday morning crash after a vehicle drove into a business in the Tanglewood Center off Cantrell Road.

Investigators said an SUV crashed into Thomason Workshops, a private art studio, around 8:30 a.m.

Photos from the scene of the crash show the SUV has been removed from the store, which suffered extensive damage to a glass entryway.

Police have not identified the driver of the SUV or said if anyone was injured in this crash. There also was no word as of yet from investigators as to a cause of the crash.

Shop owner Joe Thomason said he was at his home when a neighboring shop called to tell him what happened.

“He said, “Hey, you ought to come see this,’” he said.

Thomason, an art historian who also teaches in the space, said he hoped to get the damaged area of the wall covered before Tuesday evening to secure the creations inside the property.
