Police investigating after accident involving pedestrian on I-95

Interstate 95 northbound in West Haven was reopened Sunday morning after an early morning crash involving a pedestrian, according to the Department of Transportation.

Troopers arrived near Exit 43 around 3:47 a.m. on Sunday for a report of a motor vehicle accident. State police said one person had serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. The condition of the victim remains unknown, state police with Troop G said.

The highway was closed between exits 42 and 43 for several hours and traffic was diverted because of the crash, state police said.
