Police identify suspects after bomb threat at Franklin County courthouse complex

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police in Chambersburg have identified two suspects who they say were involved with a bomb threat at the Franklin County Courthouse complex on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, Chadwin Rodgers, 34, was arrested Thursday morning, April 11 and is currently incarcerated in Franklin County Jail. He is charged with two felony counts of conspiracy terroristic threats and conspiracy criminal use of a communication facility.

Chadwin Rogers’ brother, Jason Rodgers, also has an active arrest warrant associated with the incident. He is also facing two felony charges including terroristic threats and criminal use of a communication facility.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s office says a Franklin County employee working at the Judicial Center at 14 N. Main Street received the threat at 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

Chambersburg Police say the caller claimed there was an explosive device inside the building and that it was going to detonate.

The Sheriff’s office says in coordination with multiple K9 teams, Chambersburg Police, State Police, and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office, the area was swept and deemed clear at 4:30 p.m.

Breaking News

Franklin County Court was closed for the remainder of the day, according to the county. Area roads were closed due to the police activity.

Law enforcement is working with the Franklin County District Attorney’s office to investigate incident.
