Police identify victim in deadly north Austin shooting

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department identified the man who died in a shooting at a north Austin apartment last week. Additionally, the agency provided more details in a news release, saying there were two additional victims who were shot.

Around 8:07 p.m. on May 9, officers responded to the Canyon Ridge Apartments, located 12118 Walnut Creek Crossing, after multiple 911 calls about a shooting, the release said.

Once officers arrived at the apartment complex, they found a man, later identified as 27-year-old Isaac Jimenez on the second floor of building five, according to police. He was pronounced dead at 8:31 p.m.

Another man was then found by building six with a gunshot wound, the release said. He was taken to the a local hospital. Police then received a call coming from the Whataburger at 9516 North Lamar Blvd. for another man with a gunshot wound. He was also taken to a local hospital, according to police.

During the investigation, police determined Jimenez was inside an apartment. That’s when police said he was shot and killed during a disturbance. According to police, this is still an active investigation.
