Police identify Middlesex County man who died Friday in a one-vehicle crash in Manalapan

MANALAPAN−Authorities have identified the 86-year-old Monroe man who died Friday night after his pickup went off the road and into a ditch.

Pasquale Martone was driving a 2015 Ford truck on Iron Ore Road when the one-vehicle collision happened near Day Grove Road, Manalapan Deputy Police Chief Leonard Maltese said.

Police were called to the crash shortly before 10 p.m.

Martone was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Maltese said.

Martone owned Englishtown Auto Sales for 42 years, before retiring in 2014, according to his obituary.

He was a collector of toy cars, trucks and airplanes who enjoyed going to flea markets and spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandson.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lester Memorial Home followed by burial at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Friday 4-8 p.m. at Saturday 9-10 a.m. at Lester Memorial Home at 16 Church Street West and Gatzmer Avenue in Jamesburg.
