Police ID man killed in Tuesday's shooting in New Mexico

One person was killed Tuesday night in Hobbs, New Mexico, after a shooting, according to Hobbs Police Department.

Officers were called out at around 10:30 p.m. to the 1000 block of South Linam Street in reference to a person who had been shot. Officers located Gregory Brooks, 28, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

Brooks was taken to Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital, where he died from his injuries. It was not immediately clear what prompted the violence and no other details have been released at this time, but police have confirmed that an investigation is underway.
