Police hosting Sept. 11 remembrance event

Sep. 3—The Logansport Police Department will host a remembrance event at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 11.

The "Remembering 9/11 5K Run & Dog Walk" will be held at Huston Park on Smith Street. Door prizes will be awarded, and participants will have a chance to enjoy a 5K dog walk and run. Local vendors will be on site as well.

Registration fees now through Sept. 10 are $25 per entry, which includes one raffle ticket. The price is $30 on the day of the event. The first 50 participants will receive a T-shirt.

All proceeds benefit the local Fraternal Order of Police: Shop with a Cop program, Cause for Paws and Cass County Humane Society.

Event activities are as follows:

8:30-9:30 a.m. — Registration for runners and walkers

9:30 a.m. — Dedication from local government officials

10 a.m. — A Cause for Paws and Cass County Humane Society adoption event

10 a.m. — 5K run starts

11:30 a.m. — Last chance to buy extra door prize tickets ($1 each)

12:30 p.m. — Door prizes (must be present to win) and closing remarks

All dogs must be on a leash, and persons with pets must clean up after the pet.
