Teens arrested after gunfire at Easton prompted police to evacuate parking garages

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Two teenagers have been arrested after shot were fired at Easton Town Center on Saturday night.

Police said they received reports of shots being fired in the West Parking Garage around 8:49 p.m. Nobody was injured, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Columbus police said the incident started as an altercation between two groups that escalated and they have have arrested two teenage boys. Each has been charged with four counts of felonious assault, two counts of discharging firearms on prohibited premises and one count of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

Both have been placed in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.

Law enforcement officials evacuated the mall’s parking garages and increased their presence in the area after the incident. Officers working at Easton were the first to hear shots and responded in minutes.
