Police: Driver struck and injured pedestrian in Henderson, Kentucky

EVANSVILLE — An investigation is underway in Henderson, Kentucky, after a driver reportedly struck and injured a pedestrian Monday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. along the 100 block of South Green Street near a Taco Bell restaurant, according to Henderson Police Department Sgt. Bill Russell.

The Henderson Fire Department and paramedics responded to the scene and began rendering aid to the pedestrian, a male, before transporting him to a local hospital for "serious injuries," Russell wrote in a news release.

The driver, who has not been publicly identified, reportedly consented to field sobriety tests. Russell told the Courier & Press that as of Tuesday afternoon, no charges had been filed in connection with the incident.
