Police: Driver who hit beachgoers fled, at large

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police say a driver who ran into a crowd at the Venice Beach boardwalk in Los Angeles fled from the scene and has not been taken into custody.

Police Officer Jorge Torres says the person drove away from the scene at about 6 p.m. Saturday and had yet to be found more than two hours later.

Torres had no description of the car or the driver that left 12 people injured, two of them critically.
