Police: Driver cited after pedestrians hit in Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Two pedestrians were injured after being hit by a car in downtown Johnson City on Tuesday, police report.

According to a spokesperson with the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD), officers responded to the West State of Franklin and Buffalo Street area regarding two pedestrians hit while in a crosswalk around 7:30 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle was reportedly issued citations for failure to yield to pedestrian right of way in a crosswalk and violation of prohibited use of a mobile device while driving.

The two pedestrians were taken to an area hospital for suspected minor injuries.
