Police: Decatur man arrested after 2 pounds of marijuana found

Mar. 1—A Decatur man was arrested Thursday after search warrants executed by the Decatur Police Department recovered 2 pounds of marijuana, according to a DPD press release.

Thomas Anthony Strong, 30, was booked into Morgan County Jail on two counts of distribution of a controlled substance and first-degree possession of marijuana, according to the release.

DPD's Vice/Narcotics Unit investigated Strong for allegedly distributing narcotics. During the investigation, they said they observed Strong distribute illegal narcotics on at least two occasions.

Investigators assisted by patrol officers executed search warrants Thursday in the 2000 block of Montgomery Street Southwest and the 300 block of Memorial Drive Northwest

In addition to the marijuana, police said they located a firearm and large sums of U.S. currency. The money was seized pending condemnation proceedings.

Strong was released from jail Friday on a $110,000 bond, records show.
