Police: Cocoa woman, denied order at McDonald's drive-thru, waves gun at workers

COCOA — A 26-year-old Cocoa woman brandished a gun at McDonald's workers in a drive-thru when they told her they could not complete her order for a meal combo, police said.

Quavi Young was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and open carry of a weapon after officers were called Thursday to the McDonald’s, 927 Dixon Road, to investigate a disturbance in the drive-thru lane.

Witnesses told Cocoa police that Young pulled up to the drive-thru speaker and asked for a meal combo that workers told her did not exist on the menu. Young insisted the order be completed and then brandished a black M&P 9 Shield handgun with a drum-style magazine capable of holding up to 50 rounds, police said.

It was not immediately clear if Young owned the weapon or was legally licensed to carry it.

Officers arrived and took Young into custody. Young was released on bond Saturday from the Brevard County Jail Complex.
