Police Make Arrests as Hundreds of Anti-Kavanaugh Protesters Rally in Hart Senate Building

Hundreds of demonstrators filled the atrium of the Hart Senate Office Building in Washington on October 4 to protest the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court and to show support for his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford.

Several early reports said police were making arrests. This footage shows police leading protesters away from a group waving a banner reading, “We Believe All Survivors.”

Police had shut down the Capitol Building in advance of the protest, prompting participants to gather in the Hart building instead, according to Women’s March which reportedly led the demonstration. Credit: Nara Garber via Storyful
