Police arrest PSL rapper Jackboy on weapons and drug possession charges

PORT ST. LUCIE — An arrest on weapons and drug-related charges of a Port St. Lucie man known as rapper Jackboy was announced by police Wednesday.

A Port St. Lucie police gang unit in the area of Southwest Port St. Lucie Boulevard at Southwest Import Drive around 11 p.m. Tuesday conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Suburban. They cited numerous traffic infractions, including having unlawfully dark window tint, the odor of marijuana coming from the SUV and the driver being on a Facetime call while driving, according to Master Sgt. Dominick Mesiti.

Police pulled the vehicle over in the area of Southwest Tradition and Village parkways.

The driver was identified as Pierre Delince, 26, also known as Jackboy, who was known to the detectives from prior interactions, according to police records.

During a March 12, 2024 traffic stop of an armored vehicle driven by the rapper known as Jackboy, or Pierre Delince, 26, of Port St. Lucie, police reportedly found multiple marijuana and THC-related items along with a loaded handgun, according to arrest records.

When officers approached the SUV to talk with Delince, they reported seeing what was later said to be a loaded Glock 19 handgun with a loaded extended magazine containing 32 rounds in the passenger floorboard.

In their report, officers said Delince was known to be a convicted felon with a gang affiliation and therefore prohibited from possessing weapons or ammunition in the state.

Police said Delince was asked to lower his window, and he said he could not because the windows were bulletproof and the vehicle was armored.

Several marijuana and THC-related items including vapor pens and beverages and related paraphernalia were listed among items found during a search of the vehicle. Those included a Marijuanitas grape drink containing 40 mg of THC; a Yurple Drizzle Goblin container that field tested positive for marijuana residue; a premium indoor whole flower container with 2.5 grams of marijuana in the center console.

According to police records, Delince, of the 10000 block of Southwest Tradition Parkway, was charged with possession of a firearm by a gang-related convicted felon; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; two counts of possession of cannabis over 20 grams (THC Liquid); possession of cannabis under 20 grams; possession of drug paraphernalia; driving while license suspended; and violation of a court order – prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Delince was the only person in the SUV when police stopped him and denied knowledge of its contents to police, telling them he "was just dropping someone off."

His brother was called to the traffic stop and in the report told officers the gun belonged to him and he was the person who was previously inside the SUV with Delince.

Late last year, police investigated a shooting at the Tradition area residence shared by Delince and his brother, in which his brother was shot three times in what was said to be a case of mistaken identity for the intended target, Delince.

Mesiti said the Dec. 13 targeted shooting investigation was closed following the arrest of the suspected shooter the same day and a second person thought to be the driver of the getaway car later that month.

St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office records show Delince was placed in the St. Lucie County Jail just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on $390,000 bail.
