STORY: One man, who claimed to be a freelance journalist, was seen getting arrested by police, with CBS News reporting that multiple arrests were made.

The report added that the protesters, who started at Union Square, had made their way to the FIT campus to rally around an encampment while being closely followed by police.

The incident occurred amid the dozens of protests against Israel's campaign in Gaza on campuses across the country where police have arrested more than 2,000 people, a political flashpoint during a contentious U.S. election year as Democratic President Joe Biden seeks a second term in office.
