An investigation revealed that at 8:39 p.m., West, who was reportedly driving a Nissan 370Z, crashed into a woman who was walking eastbound on the shoulder of the road.

West drove off after the crash and the woman was pronounced dead on the scene, according to NOPD officers.

They said that on April 28, they found the Nissan, which led to them identify West as the suspect in the crash. He was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges of hit-and-run driving involving death or serious bodily injury and of obstruction of justice.
