Police make arrest in deadly South Sacramento shooting

(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento Police said officers arrested someone in connection to a deadly shooting that happened in South Sacramento on Feb. 23.

On Tuesday, the agency said a 32-year-old suspect was arrested on Sunday in Oakland for murder and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on homicide-related charges.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 23, Sacramento police officers were sent to the 3800 block of 14th Avenue, which is in the Oak Park area, to respond to reports of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

Road rage shooting hospitalizes one man in Tracy

Emergency personnel took the woman to the hospital, and an update from police indicated that the injury was non-life threatening; however, the woman later died, police said.

“In our efforts to keep the public safe, our detectives have been relentless in their pursuit of locating the suspect in this murder,” Sacramento Police said on X.
