Police activity near San Rafael bocce ball facility

(KRON) — The San Rafael Police Department is responding to a car crash and shooting in Marin County. The crash was reported near 55 B Street near the Bocce Ball Federation on Saturday.

The Executive Director of the bocce ball facility, Jessica Libien, told KRON4 that a tournament was ongoing when they heard loud gunshots. She tells KRON4 that one person — who was not associated with the tournament — was shot and that at least four cars were damaged.

Video shows several patrol units and a black sedan that crashed into a white Chevrolet. The video also shows a white Toyota with bullet holes on one side of the car’s window.

KRON4 reached out to San Rafael police to confirm the crash, but we have not heard back as of this report.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned to KRON4 for more updates.
