Police: 2 shot in Muskegon Heights

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating after two people were shot in Muskegon Heights.

It happened around 4:35 p.m. Monday on the 3100 block of Temple, near West Lincoln Avenue, according to the Muskegon Heights Police Department.

Dispatchers had received a call from a woman at the location, who requested an ambulance and then hung up without giving any other information. Police, firefighters and health care professionals were sent.

When officers arrived on scene, they were told that a 36-year-old man had been shot and was inside a home, according to the police department. Then, at 4:50 p.m., police learned that a gunshot victim — a 19-year-old man — had arrived at the hospital, seeking treatment.

“After investigation it was discovered that this victim was also connected to the shooting that occurred in the 3100 block of Temple,” police wrote in a Tuesday release.

Neither man’s injuries were considered life-threatening, according to the police department.
