Police: 16-year-old facing charges in Parchment armed robbery

PARCHMENT, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say charges have been authorized against a 16-year-old after an armed robbery at a Parchment gas station.

The 16-year-old, a Kalamazoo resident, faces charges of armed robbery and carrying a concealed weapon, according to a Tuesday release from the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department.

Police seek suspect in Parchment armed robbery

Police on Friday asked for the community’s help to identify the suspect in the robbery, which happened early that morning. The suspect allegedly entered the store, demanded money and pointed a gun at the gas station employee, then fled.

Police later found and arrested the suspect, the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department said Tuesday. During their interaction, police said they found a concealed weapon in the suspect’s possession.

The 16-year-old was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home, according to the police department.
