Amid escalating tensions, the Polish Foreign Ministry declared on March 24 its intent to demand explanations from Russia following the breach of Polish airspace by a Russian missile, highlighting a recurring pattern of violation.

On the morning of March 24, a Russian cruise missile, which targeted Ukraine, briefly crossed into Polish airspace.

Warsaw has urged Moscow to cease terrorist aerial assaults on Ukraine's people and territory and to seek resolution to internal conflicts, emphasizing the need to halt the ongoing war.

Expressing condolences to victims of Russian airstrikes and their families, the Polish Foreign Ministry reiterated Poland's condemnation of all forms of terrorism and forcible border alterations.

According to the Polish Armed Forces, one of the Russian cruise missiles deployed against Ukraine on the night of March 23-24 landed within Polish territory.

At 05:23 a.m. (Kyiv time), the Russian missile breached Polish airspace near the village of Oserdów, Lubelskie Voivodeship, remaining there for 39 seconds.

This is not the first instance of Russian missiles encroaching upon Polish airspace. For instance, during the attack on Dec. 29, 2023, a Russian missile traversed Polish skies for approximately three minutes. Similarly, on Feb. 7, 2024, a Russian missile approached the Polish border.

Russia has launched consecutive assaults on Ukraine over three nights, with 29 cruise missiles and 28 Shahed suicide drones deployed during the latest attack on March 23-24. Notably, 19 missiles and 7 Shaheds targeted Lviv Oblast, resulting in infrastructural damage. Ukrainian air defense successfully neutralized 43 hostile targets throughout the country.
