Pocono Palace closing doors after over 45 years

MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A popular resort in the Poconos is closing its doors after more than 45 years.

Pocono Palace will be operating under new ownership.

The resort is likely best known for its classic romantic decor, such as heart-shaped tubs and a seven-foot-tall champagne tower.

The company owner of the hotel says in a press release it’s embarking on a renovation journey.

The new owner, Raj Investments LLC, announced the acquisition of the Pocono Palace in East Stroudsburg, PA, marking an exciting new chapter for the property.

“The local community, the township, the zoning board, everyone is just you know from everyone that we’ve met has been very helpful. The current staff to the previous owners to the local community you know across-the-board everyone’s has been super helpful very nice, very cordial to work with,” said investor Prashant Kothari.

The site was open for almost a century.
