PNM to start construction project on Hyde Park Road

Apr. 11—Electric utility crews will continue work this month along Hyde Park Road that could cause traffic delays on the mountain route through the summer.

The work is set to start April 22, and setup will begin Monday, Public Service Company of New Mexico said in a news release.

The crews, contracted by PNM, plan to continue rebuilding a power line, with a goal of increasing electrical resiliency and reliability in the area, the release states. Workers will be performing underground utility work, installing new equipment to improve the line and repaving the road upon completion.

PNM plans to station traffic flaggers at each end of the construction zone during the work and the company requested drivers use caution driving on Hyde Park Road in the area throughout the summer.
