Marked police car gets parking ticket while attending emergency call-out
Police officers were left stunned after a marked patrol car was given a parking ticket while attending an emergency call-out.
Officers belonging to Plymouth Response A Section said they received the Parking Charge Notice on a "marked police vehicle" that had been left in a car park.
They then contacted the company responsible - but were told they must appeal the ticket in writing.
In a tweet, the officers from Crownhill Police Station implied the ticketing and appeals process was a waste of police time.

They jokingly asked people not to call 999, because they were busy writing a letter of appeal.
The tweet read: "We’ve been issued a parking ticket for a marked police vehicle by a local car park. The vehicle was attending an emergency. We’ve called the company to explain.
"They require us to spend time writing a letter of appeal. Please hold calling 999 whilst we do that!"

The officers then shared a photograph of the 'Notice to Keeper' Devon and Cornwall Police received, demanding payment because ANPR cameras at the car park showed the diver of the police vehicle was in "breach of terms and conditions".
The ticket said it was in breach because it was "parked without a valid pay by phone transaction".
Plymouth Response A Section declined to comment further - or reveal the name of the company involved.
