Plymouth hosts 'Steps for Stegs'

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth High School will sponsor a 'Steps for Stegs,' a Fun Run, 5K Walk/Run and a Virtual run on Sunday to raise money to buy a handicap van for Nathan and Haley Stegelmann.

Nathan Stegelmann played basketball for coach Brian Bechtel at Goshen, graduating in 2008. He was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) at Thanksgiving of 2023.

His wife Haley is has been teaching in the Plymouth school system for 13 years.

Cost for the Fun Run/Walk is $20 and will begin at 2 p.m. at the high school track in Plymouth. The 5K Run/Walk will be $25 and start at 2:30. Donations for the cause from $30 will be taken from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Registration and shirt pick-up will run from noon until 2 p.m. at PHS. The races will not be timed. There will be food trucks outside the track.
