Please enjoy Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley dancing to Lizzo's 'Truth Hurts'

The truth is, Lizzo's "Truth Hurts" is the anthem we needed in 2019.

The song was released in 2017, but it recently surged in popularity, topping the charts, bringing us laughter and joy in the form of DNA test memes, and even gaining the attention of people like Hillary Clinton.

With a catchy beat, empowering lyrics that touch on self-love and question men's actions, and, of course, Lizzo's stunning voice, "Truth Hurts" is a straight up jam, one that not even members of Congress can turn down.

On Friday, during Congressional Black Caucus week, Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley busted a move to the song and shared footage of their delightful dancing on Twitter.

"We couldn’t celebrate #breakingconcreteceilings without jamming to my hometown girl @lizzo," the Minnesota representative wrote when quote-tweeting a video taken of her on the dance floor. Lizzo left her hometown of Houston in 2010 and moved to Minneapolis, according to an interview with Rolling Stone.

"Even @AyannaPressley loves our home girl!" Omar added in another tweet, which includes a video of her and Pressley.

Pressley later shared the video on her own account and confirmed her love of Lizzo. "It’s true we all love you," the Massachusetts representative wrote.

According to Huffington Post, the two Congresswomen were dancing at an event hosted at the Culture House, a nonprofit venue in Washington, D.C. that's "dedicated to the arts and community." Democratic representatives Lauren Underwood and Jahana Hayes also reportedly attended the event, thought it's unclear if they made it to the dance floor in time to let loose to Lizzo.

Let Lizzo's influence continue to uplift us in 2019.
