Play of the Day: Nuke Kids on the Block

President Obama played high school basketball, his brother-in-law Craig Robinson is the head basketball coach of the Oregon State Beavers and he is a self-professed and vocal Chicago Bulls fan. However, he’s also a very busy man who doesn’t play as often as he’d like, as evidenced by his 2-22 showing on the White House basketball court this week. Obama’s poor shooting performance was roundly mocked by late-night hosts Tuesday, including David Letterman showing a highlight reel of Obama sports bloopers, Jimmy Fallon making Dick Cheney aim jokes and Jay Leno even tied him to Andre Drummond.

The other overwhelming story on the shows was North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un’s recent provocations against the United States and the subsequent US response. Kim’s threats of war toward Austin brought one of The Daily Show’s better sight gags in a while. Similarly, Stephen Colbert mocked the images of Kim looking at what passes for a modern computer in North Korean.
