Plaquemines Parish allocates $1.5M toward Highway 11 improvements
PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The Plaquemines Parish Council has approved an appropriation of $1.5 million toward improving Highway 11.
Plaquemines Parish Government leaders said the project is intended to enhance road safety and infrastructure. The affected stretch of Highway 11 spans from Empire to Buras, encompassing vital sections of roadway crucial for local commerce and daily commutes.

Contractor Otwell Services began work on the project on April 8 and is projected to be completed between May and June, depending on weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
Residents are advised to expect partial lane closures. To ensure smooth traffic flow, detour signage will be placed to guide drivers along the best available routes.
